Rebellion

I lived in a tureen,

I never went out.

And I really liked it –

There’s no place like home.

But once out of the blue

I woke up quite bored,

Got sick of the tureen

And tried to get out.

I pushed the lid,

I squealed and squeaked

But heard manic laughter outside.

Someone sat on the lid

And it was his creed

To keep me imprisoned inside.

I cried and begged

And banged my head,

But he didn’t care, not a bit.

And when I started to talk

About needing a walk

He only kept chuckling, the git.

One day I felt angry

And broke the tureen.

Got out, started looking

For my prison guard.

I looked all around me

And I saw a fly,

A fat evil buzzer,

That kept me inside.

And I squashed it.
